Unlike the fire-breathing dragons often seen in Western stories, Chinese dragons are traditionally associated with rivers, clouds, and rain. They represent strength, protection, and favorable change. Their strength is not only about confronting obstacles—it can also mean adapting to changing circumstances and continuing forward, much like water finding its way around anything in its path.
The dragon’s long body forms a practical ash-catching channel, finished in a speckled jade-green glaze that recalls the soft appearance of ancient jade without being made from jade. With a backflow cone, smoke emerges from the dragon’s mouth and travels along its body like water arriving from the clouds. With stick incense, smoke rises above the tail while ash falls into the central channel. These two smoke patterns bring the traditional connection between the Chinese dragon, clouds, and water into motion.
The piece offers a practical message for modern life: strength does not always require resisting every change. Staying focused while knowing when to adjust can be just as powerful. HOW TO USE
Stick Incense: Insert one stick into the opening near the dragon’s tail. The central channel catches the falling ash
Backflow Cone: Place a backflow cone with a hole in the base on top of the dragon’s head, aligning the bottom opening with the smoke channel
PLEASE NOTE
The firing and glazing processes may create slight differences in color, natural pinholes, tiny mineral specks, and glaze depth. These are normal characteristics of ceramic craftsmanship.
The elongated form includes delicate raised details such as the horns, whiskers, and tail. Always lift and carry the holder with both hands supporting the base. Do not pick it up by the head or tail.
Measurements are taken by hand and may vary slightly.
For stick incense, light the tip and gently blow out the flame until only the glowing ember remains. Insert the stick securely into the opening near the tail and adjust its angle so the ash falls within the central channel. Do not force the stick into the opening if it is too thick.
For the backflow effect, use only a cone with a hole in the base and align it with the opening on the dragon’s head. Standard incense cones will not produce downward-flowing smoke.
Backflow smoke is sensitive to indoor airflow. Keep the holder away from fans, air-conditioning vents, and strong drafts from open windows.
Backflow incense may leave ash or natural smoke residue around the dragon’s mouth, inside the smoke channel, and along the central tray. Allow the holder to cool completely before cleaning it with a soft, dry cloth, soft-bristled brush, or slightly damp cloth. Dry it promptly, and avoid harsh cleaning products, abrasive materials, or hard tools that may scratch the glaze.
Always place the holder on a level, stable, heat-resistant, nonflammable surface. Keep it away from curtains, paper, children, and pets. Do not move the holder or leave incense unattended while it is burning.

CUSTOMER NOTES
This has more visual weight than my other incense holders, which is exactly what I wanted for a wide shelf. The dragon detail reads clearly from a distance. Four stars because it can feel crowded on a small table once an ash-catching surface is added.
What impressed me first was the design. The dragon has plenty of detail, but the restrained finish keeps it elegant. I used it on the sideboard in my dining room. It held the stick firmly and gave the whole setup a more finished appearance.
The proportions and finish felt right as soon as I placed it. Traditional cloud and dragon elements are balanced by a controlled color palette. I used it in a living room with simple modern furniture. It added character without clashing with the cleaner lines around it.
The holder has enough weight that I am not worried about it tipping during normal use. The dragon motif adds character to a simple evening routine. I would prefer a slightly wider flat area for ash, but the holder itself performs well.
This is more detailed than most objects in my home, yet the traditional dragon form works surprisingly well with dark wood furniture. The incense position has been reliable. I gave four stars because the elaborate shape is not as quick to clean as a plain tray.
After repeated use, the details I appreciated on day one still stand out. The raised details are crisp and the body feels reassuringly solid. I used it during regular incense use over the past few weeks. A soft brush clears ash from the deeper areas and keeps the details looking sharp.
The horns, whiskers, and tail give the dragon a lot of definition, but they are not places to grab. I support the long base with both hands when moving it. Once cool, the central channel is easy to reach with a soft brush for cleaning.
I bought it for the design and was pleased that it is also easy to use. The incense sits firmly and the piece does not shift when touched lightly. Some ash can land around the raised dragon detail, so I use a soft brush during cleanup.
This has become one of the easiest decorative pieces to keep out. The piece has enough visual weight to hold its own on a wide surface. I used it as the central object on a long shelf. The burner remained stable and never felt crowded by the incense.
I bought this mainly for stick incense, and the dragon’s body works as a long ash tray. After adjusting the stick near the tail, the ash landed inside the center channel instead of on the table. The holder is longer than it looks in close-up photos, so measure your space.
With the correct backflow cone centered on the head, smoke comes out through the mouth and moves along the body. It took a little adjustment and still air to get a clean flow. The jade-green speckled glaze looks warmer and more natural than a flat green finish.
The dragon design is ornate, but the color and finish keep it from feeling overly bright. It makes a strong accent on my sideboard and holds incense securely. Dust settles in the deeper carved areas, so cleaning takes a little more time than with a smooth holder.
I bought it for the appearance and was equally pleased with the function. The sculpted form looks especially good against dark wood. I used it under a warm table lamp in the evening. The contours picked up the light beautifully from across the room.
