Because the formation process takes time, agarwood is often regarded in Chinese incense culture as a deep wood fragrance that is worth experiencing slowly.
The Indonesian archipelago has long been one of the important production areas of aromatic woods. These fragrant materials have also entered China and other parts of Asia through maritime trade. Island Oud draws inspiration from this cross-island and maritime aroma exchange, blending Indonesian agarwood spices, natural wood powder, plant extracts, and plant-based adhesives, and then shaping it through manual production.
When burned, it presents a deep woody aroma with a distinct resinous quality. Compared to the warm, slightly creamy wood aroma of Ancient Sandalwood, Island Oud is deeper, more layered, and has a lower sweet note, making it suitable for customers who already like woody scents or who want the space smell to be more stable.
This fragrance is suitable for private listening periods in the evening. After finishing work, you can play music from your phone, computer, or speaker in the living room or personal space, light a candle, and listen to two or three songs during its burning time. It is also suitable for customers who already have a meditation habit to use before starting a short meditation session. No complex rituals are required; the deep resinous woody aroma can naturally blend into this period of solitude.

The actual burning time and smoke reverse-flow effect will be affected by factors such as indoor air flow, temperature, humidity, ignition degree, incense burner structure, and alignment of the smoke holes.
Please use a dedicated reverse-flow incense burner and align the smoke holes at the bottom of the incense stick with the smoke channel of the burner accurately. The smoke flow effects produced by different burners may vary.
After lighting the top of the incense stick, blow out the flame and confirm that only the burning point remains. Then, place it steadily on the designated position of the incense burner. The smoke usually starts flowing downward after burning inside the internal smoke channel.
Please use it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant and non-flammable surface. Maintain proper ventilation and avoid fans, air conditioning outlets and strong winds near windows.
Keep away from flammable materials, children and pets. Do not move or leave unattended during burning, and do not use it while sleeping.
The reverse-flow smoke may leave ash or oily marks on the incense burner's smoke channel and surface. Please clean it promptly after the incense burner has completely cooled down.
Handmade incense sticks may have slight differences in size, color and shape. A small amount of powder falling off is normal. Unused incense sticks should be sealed and stored in a cool and dry place.

I appreciate that this does not smell like sweet cologne. It is dry, dark, and a little bitter at first, then warmer as it burns. My only issue is that airflow from a nearby vent interrupted the waterfall, so burner placement matters.
